Meet Kelly Milbee, LMHC-A

Ages: Children, Teens, Adults  Location: Westfield

Reason for Becoming a Therapist:

Kelly became a therapist to help individuals of all ages uncover their strengths and navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.

Therapeutic Approach:

Kelly uses an integrative approach, blending person-centered and cognitive-behavioral techniques. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Her specialties include anger management, anxiety, depression, coping skills, family systems, self-esteem, focus and control, trauma, and unsafe thoughts.

Qualifications and Experience:

Kelly completed her Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development at University College London, England, and has over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. She is currently working with the Behavioral Health Board of Indiana to transfer licensure credibility and is practicing as an LMHC-Associate. Her background includes community mental health outpatient centers and extensive school-based counseling, with a strong emphasis on collaborating with educators.

Philosophy:
Kelly believes that counseling is built on trust, compassion, and genuine connection. She creates a supportive space where clients can explore difficult emotions with openness and vulnerability, working together toward meaningful growth and healing.

She enjoys working in schools and alongside teachers to support them as they guide kids and families, while also providing individualized care in private practice. This dual approach allows her to support clients in both educational settings and one-on-one environments, helping bridge the gap between school challenges and therapeutic goals.

“Children are not things to be molded but are people to be unfolded."
