Innovative Practices

At The Cabin, we commit to providing our clients with access to cutting edge, innovative therapeutic practices. Some of these include:

  • Adventure Therapy, a hands-on and outdoor-based form of therapy that uses active and experiential approaches to help clients;

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which was designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories;

  • Infertility Counseling, with therapists specially trained in the physical and emotional aspects of infertility, as well as provide counseling services required for individuals and couples who wish to attempt pregnancy via the use of donor eggs/sperm or gestational carrier; and

  • Gallup’s Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment, the first step in helping people identify their talents. This results in giving people a way to discuss and develop their unique combination of skills, talents, and knowledge.

The Samaritan Fund

The Samaritan Fund at The Cabin was created to subsidize counseling fees for individuals, couples, and families who otherwise could not afford such services.

Qualification for The Samaritan Fund is based on the poverty guidelines updated periodically by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Samaritan Fund is utilized to pay for the difference between the full fee and the calculated sliding scale fee. Since its inception, The Cabin has neither turned anyone away, nor restricted the number of sessions needed, for those who qualify.
